JT Archer (AKA Joey Primo) is a guitarist in southern New Mexico.
He started playing guitar in high school and played in a number of garage bands, most notably - The Grass.
Joey left New Mexico in 1968 to work the music scene in Los Angeles. He did session work for April/Blackwood Music publishers and played in several bands that did original material and gigged around LA. He was under contract to a legendary LA TV production company and recorded several demos of original material but never released a solo album for them.
In the early 1970's, Joey moved to Tucson, Az where he continued to write and record material that ultimately was released as Canyon on Goldust Records. During this period he collaberated with legendary rock guitarist Link Wray and joined the progressive horn-based band - Canyon.
Joey continues to write, arrange and record . He has moved into a smooth jazz vein, but still enjoys progessive rock, funk, and good vocal harmonies.
He listens to a variety of music including smooth jazz, funk, and salsa jazz. He loves Santa Fe and The Fat City Horns and tries to catch them every time he goes to Las Vegas.
